Japanese bag makers seem to favour thinner canvas that has been treated or woven specially for more strength and lightness.

Robert Pattison has this huge Filson duffel, but what I'm really interested in is the Marc Jacobs leather duffel he has in the other hand... probably costs a bomb.

Purely from looks, it's the Havannah (second link) for me.

I think it is very likely that i will drop the Ettinger. too pricey for a canvas. A wise man recently said this to me "...would really hesitate to pay 400 quid for a cotton bag! Save more and order a glaser!" .very interesting indeed. I saw a nice looking duffel bag at Halo, Bangsar that day. It was on sale and i still don't know why i didn't buy it.

I'm not sure if I can pull off the monogram canvas look.

Here's the perfect carryall. But it's >USD2K.

The Glaser is a very real option.

Just an observation: carrying a full leather duffel is like carrying a little shaved cow.

If u r still interested in the glaser we can talk about it next week. I am planning to get the travelers briefcase and have contacted them. The dude told me it will take 12 weeks coz its made to order. Abit long considering that my briefcase is about to fall apart.

Before an order is submitted they recommend a skype session to fully understand the customers requirements. If skype is not possible, they will offer to call u. I like their style.

12 weeks is really, really, really long. Three months to get a bag!

I wonder if a pebble grain would look better than the natural finish. Hmmm.

Apparently, Glaser uses Nivea Hand Lotion to condition the leather.
