Want to wear it as part of a casual summer outfit, with cream/white linen trousers and chambray/light blue shirts/linen shirts with folded up sleeves.

As part of my 'Summer Project', I recently commissioned a whole slew of shirts with this 'one-piece collar' that I intend to wear without tie, and unbuttoned.

LOL, fat boy above really cracked me up a few months ago. Selling a display piece of G&G (presumably tried on many times, scuff marks on sole etc) at full price. When asked if he would lower the price to reflect the fact that these are not strictly brand new, he said " they're even better than new because they've been polished by ME." What a twat!

Nice.....the wonders of crowdsourcing!

Noticed in the bigger pic you provided, the parquet floor is scratched quite a bit. Pulls down the premium-ness of the shirt. I would ask someone to try and photoshop it out if possible.

David Ogilvy/Don Draper etc would be proud.

Busy bee. Don't really like that silk.

Whaaaaat? Don't like it.

Is there some logical argument for this? Any evidence as to why it is bad? This sounds purely circumstantial and biased your honour.

The St. James II is indeed a nice model. I once contemplated getting a pair during the Edwards of Manchester sale, but decided that given my proletarian social class, I cannot and should not walk around in those.

Ah, I would not worry about that. I wear my St James II on the bus. No one knows what they are...or cares. It's just me who feels that great fit and the unique sounding click the heels make on hard floors.

Unlike Bernard, who probably bought his multicoloured monstrosities just to show off at the next Tatler bash... so he (presumably) stands out from the rest of the A-Listers.

The best pleasures in life are the private ones.

^^ Spoken like a bit of a banker, if you ask me.

I think every forum needs a few 'wankers' who don't always agree with groupthink. Otherwise it just becomes a self-admiration society where everyone is always congratulating each other on their shoes (even the hideous ones), speaking pretentiously to one another in french and generally closing ranks against anyone who may not agree with their POV.

As long as one follows the rules of a forum why should there be any problem? People in singapore and malaysia seem to have a pretty thin skin..is it related to the concept of face? How can calling something 'ridiculous' be construed as 'insulting'....it's milder than mild. Calling someone a fucking cunt on a forum...now that would be insulting and deserving of censure.

Je ne parlais voux je'croissant  monsieur, non? (pardon my french)

Although it does earmark one as possibly dabbling in the law or some such profession, where the primary aim is to confuse people with verbiage.

Fiddler, book recommendation:

Winning friends and influencing people seems like a polite euphemism for kissing ass. Not for me.

I was at the G&G trunk show yesterday and frankly quite put off by the fakeness of the whole thing. A lot of shoemoozing going on. 900 quid for an MTO...get outta here. There were some beautiful shoes on display but I was left with the distinct feeling that my feet were not made for designs as sleek and anorexic as the ones I saw. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that all the models were in D width.

Needless to say i 'aint' gonna kop' anything....Vass still offers me best bang for the buck.

The midnight calf on display blew me away though.

Had a very forced exchange with one of the Gs....and heaped some scorn on the EG 82 Last, only to be told that he was the guy who created it. Winning friends and influencing people, indeed.

PS. I have an acute distaste for lawyers, estate agents, banking and finance wankers who gamble with other people's money lose it all and still claim fat bonuses and taxi drivers, though not necessarily in the same order.

What about if they sent me a wrong model? I asked for Budapest, and they sent me a different model (looks vaguely like the Budapest however, see the Vass thread). Should I get them to take it back and make me another? :/

If this is a proxied pair of shoes, maybe you need a more competent proxy...just sayin'

I seem to have annoyed you by a simple relevant question that I believe I posted in the right topic. If there was a Vass sizing thread, I would've posted there. Have I broken some sacrosanct forum rule or mistakenly infiltrated some closed bastion of elitehood here?

I put this in the open forum as maybe others might chime in if you didn't. (looks like the only option now)

I f you can't help, better not to respond at all or say I don't know rather than patronising me with some unhelpful verbiage.

I seem to have missed your group buy...which is just as well...as I prefer to do my own shopping with some informed  advice and opinions. Neither of which were forthcoming in this case.
