The title below my name says it all :P

You....HOARDER! I want in on your next heist.

The first rule of The Kerbau is you do not talk about The Kerbau.

I may or may not have been talking about the Kerbau.

On a more serious note, as I'm pretty new to the bespoke world, having just commissioned my 1st piece which is a sports coat. It would be great it you guys could advise me on what fabrics works in our weather without putting me at mercy of the great sun?

I think the Porosity Index goes something like -- in ascending order of Porosity -- cotton, linen, tropical wools, fresco, kid mohair.

As evidence of the completely unscientific way the Index has been compiled, those terms may refer to a material, a weave, a mill's name for a type of patented weave.

Personally I think linen wears cooler than tropical wool. Though that is judging from my pants. Maybe we need a 'Coolness' index (patent pending) where ratings are based on the average temperature of your cojones during a 35 degrees Celcius day.

Alrighty! At least now I know what to look out for. Most likely going to scout for tropical wool though. I like the feel of it.

Alas, the Emperor's new clothes would emerge champion.

Can I buy them from Ah Loke or Iris ?

Wait a while, there'll be a white windowpane on mottled grey linen jacket appearing in SG...

Yessir there will most certainly be in a few months from now! I will post some pics of the cloth tomorrow, but suffice to say kotmj's stuff is seriously good shit.

Patterned linen is hard enough to come by, let alone in such a ridiculously open weave yet somehow durable construction. I found it hard to put down the $$ too, but after seeing the length in the flesh, I have absolutely no regrets

I've got a few POW checks and windowpane checks on normal grounds. My favorite is a charcoal gray windowpane chalkstripe check (Maverick Super 120's). I made a sevenfold tie of the same cloth. I wear it with a white and gray (small) check dress shirt. I am a bit bolder (sort of like a much more toned down Simon Doonan) in my patterns and shirt tie combos, but as residentdandy said you have to wear that stuff as if you don't care if anyone else likes it while at the same time not look like a clown. Though I'm from the US, I can't help but think I should have been born in the UK. If I get a chance, I post pics of my suit and tie.
